Woodstock Comedy Festival: Films – Sunday Sept 17th

Sept 17 Woodstock

The Woodstock Comedy Festival is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit with a mission: Comedy for a Cause. Each year net profits are donated to Polaris and Family of Woodstock for the battle against human trafficking and domestic violence. The 5th-annual festival is another 3-day weekend event, Sept. 15 – 17, in the little town with a lot to laugh at, with everything from stand-up comedy to sketch comedy, improv to panels, films (see below) and more.

WHERE HAVE YOU GONE, LOU DIMAGGIO? Sunday 1pm. Twenty years after stepping away from his stand-up career, a TV writer aims to give it another shot, and seeks the advice of some of the now-famous friends he came up with on the comedy-club circuit, among them Larry David, Susie Essman and Colin Quinn. Directed by Brad Kuhlman/75 mins/unrated.

LET YOURSELF GO. Sunday 3pm. Award winning actor Toni Sevillo (THE GREAT BEAUTY) transforms brilliantly to a comedic role as Elia, a Freudian psychoanalyst who lives alone in a flat on the same floor as his ex-wife Giovanna, with whom he is still secretly in love. After a minor illness, his doctor prescribes an iron-rich diet and physical activity to lose a few extra kilos. That is how he chances upon Claudia, a personal trainer with the cult of physique but clearly not of mind.
