In this gritty historical drama, Samuel (Ethan Hawke) is taken from his daughter and imprisoned, and then the warden (Russell Crowe) offers him a dangerous get-out-of-jail-free card. All Samuel has to do to get back to his daughter is to smuggle gold out of a remote mine with a dangerous crew of prisoners. (dir. Padraic McKinley, Germany/U.S., 2026, 114 min.)
“A retro 1970s throwback to survival actioners of then, such as Sorcerer and Deliverance, but here transplanted to the 1930s [yet] still manages to feel of our own time.” —Indie Wire
