Thanks for your interest in hosting your event at Upstate Films. We enjoy working with our patrons to make their event successful.
We generally do not rent the theaters during prime time on weekends.
Fees for private rentals:
Starr Cinema
$550 ($500 for members) Huseby Screening Room (45 seats)
$725 ($675 for members) The Big (153 seats)
Upstate Midtown
$375 ($325 for members) (41 seats)
Orpheum
Auditorium 1: $675 ($625 for members) (135 seats)
Auditorium 2: $675 ($625 for members) (148 seats)
Auditorium 3 $725 ($675 for members) “The Mark” (99 seats)
Not-for-profit and religious and service organizations and educational institutions: $500 (2.5 hours or less block)
*** Lux members get a free theater rental as part of their membership benefits!
MENU OF EXTRAS:
- Use of backstage (Starr/Big Theater) or stage (Orpheum/Mark): $75 per 30 minutes.
- Wishes on the marquee ($150 for four hours).
- Additional $100 per additional half hour.
- Conversion of media: $50 flat fee. Appropriate (formats DCP, ProRes or BluRay. This is included in rental costs).
- Conversion of pre-show slide: $50 per slide.
- Post-film discussion AV: included.
- Videotaping of presentation: $150 per half hour.
- Output of videotaped presentation: $50 for video upload.
- Downloading of files: $35/hour per hour spent by Upstate staff.
- Concessions Packages (Specially priced for you).
- Projection of birthday/tribute videos. (Price upon request)

- Cleaning fees will be applied for excessive mess.
- All special media must be received one week prior to your event for testing.
