Directed by the Tony-winning Sam Mendes, The Motive and the Cue imagines the 1964 rehearsals of the Broadway production of Hamlet under John Gielgud’s exacting direction. Throughout the rehearsals, the collaboration between actors and the director become increasingly combustible.
