Upstate Films, mid-Hudson Valley, New York

Since 1972, Upstate Films, a 501(c)3 cultural presentation organization, has provided an ambitious
schedule of film and educational programs for New York State’s mid-Hudson Valley. Upstate Films is
headquartered at the beloved Starr Cinema in historic Rhinebeck, NY, with additional screenings and live
events at the newly acquired Orpheum Theatre in the river town of Saugerties, as well as a robust
schedule of series and off-site programs. (


This position leads grassroots campaigns and programs for the organization and works directly with the co-Executive Directors. The position’s key responsibilities include:

Managing Upstate Films membership program, including expanding reach and increasing income, overseeing renewals and creating occasional events;
Managing Upstate Films Business Partners program, increasing income, and including research and contact of new potential partners, renewals for existing partners and negotiating contracts;
Managing fulfillment of benefits for members, Business Partners and donors, providing all necessary info to theater and marketing staff;
Creating a succinct, concise weekly report;
Participating in the planning and execution of 6-8 annual donor cultivation events, including serving as co-producer of gala fundraiser;
Creating, implementing, and managing annual appeal.

● Experience in business administration, database management and fundraising, preferably with a nonprofit;
● Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
● Fluency in MS Office and Google Drive; proficiency in Airtable and InDesign/Creative Suite desired
● A desire to work with an adventurous, visionary team
● Expertise in digital management tools including donor databases
● Events production experience

$25/hour, estimated 20 hours per week, with longer weeks during certain times of year. Potential for growth into full-time job.
