An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power

Aug 21 - 24 Woodstock

A decade after An Inconvenient Truth brought climate change into the heart of popular culture comes a follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution.
More cinematic than its predecessor, the film flies viewers along mountains of ice and stretches of scrubby terrain. Where before Gore answered climate change skeptics with PowerPoint facts and animated projections, he now shows his critics footage Hurricane Sandy, routine flooding in Miami Beach, violent downpours that are literally labeled “rain bombs,” and people in India with their shoes stuck to melting streets. As he takes viewers around the world, he pursues the idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion. Arguing that we need to “fix the democracy crisis” in which decision-making has been “hacked” by corporate interests, Gore has exciting things to report when it comes to wind and solar energy.
