A CLOSE UP and GRITTY SH*TTY NEW YORK CITY special event.

Wednesday, May 29 7:00p – post-screening Q&A w/ Griffin Dunne, moderated by Gina Gershon

All Paul Hackett (Griffin Dunne) wants to do is get out of Soho, but after trying to meet a beautiful sculptor (Rosanna Arquette), he becomes ensnared in a web of downtown New York hijinks. As the night wears on, the tyranny of freaks, artists, cops, clubbers, and other characters test Paul to the very limit. Will he make it past 14th street alive?  (dir. Martin Scorsese, US, 1985, 97m)

“This unpredictable and hilarious paranoid fantasy is a contemporary, urban “Wizard of Oz,” peopled by punk artists and Yuppie vigilantes instead of wicked witches and Munchkins.” – Wall Street Journal
